The Unwanted Horse Veterinary Relief Campaign (UHVRC) along with Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health and the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) is offering free vaccines for West Nile Virus, rabies, influenza, eastern equine encephalitis and tetanus to qualifying 501(c)(3) rescue organizations. An AAEP member veterinarian must sign and fill out part of the application. The group expects to award approximately vaccines for 2,000 horses this year. Facilities and organizations will be selected based on need and potential impact to horses.

NOTE: The spring deadline is March 1, 2009 while the fall deadline is September 1, 2009.
