Today I came across 2 horses and 3 sheep in the road. Since I seem to know where every horse lives in a 50 mile radius, I knew they belonged across the street. And for once I didn't have a halter in my car.
I seriously can not count how many times I have come across this situation. No one in site, horses running on the road. Or sometimes it's cows or sheep.
So I hop out of the car and get them up the driveway and got them back in without letting the other one out. They seemed pretty relieved to be back in. The owners were nowhere in site. One came up to me as I was leaving the pasture and was insistent I pet it...then I noticed it had a cut bleeding down his leg:( It wasn't too bad, but I left the owner a note. I got most of the sheep back in but one...darn it. I know horses, but not sheep.
Weird that I am always the one on the scene...either that or no one else knows better and they just drive by.

too many people don't want to be bothered.....
I get that all the time with loose dogs and even a rabbit, whose home we never found and now she's ours.
I keep meaning to throw a halter and lead in my truck but I keep forgetting......

I'm glad you were there to get the kids back in their pasture. I'll bet they were relieved.
