GRAND RONDE, Ore. - Yamhill County deputies seized 15 miniature horses from a Grand Ronde farm Monday. They also arrested the owner for animal neglect.
Lisa Marie Tadic was booked at the county jail on 19 different counts of animal neglect and animal abuse. Though numerous, all the charges are also misdemeanors. Her bail was initially set at $62,500.
Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree says Tadic is the owner of the 15 miniature horses that were found at 23541 SW Grand Ronde Road. "Thirteen of those small horses were found living in deplorable conditions", said Crabtree. "The horses had sores and bare patches with no hair. None had been seen by a veterinarian since 2002. The hooves of seven of them had grown to the point where they were curling forward, and back toward the front of the legs, a painful condition making it difficult for them to stand or move."
Tadic surrendered the horses to the Yamhill County Sheriff's office. They were temporarily in the care of volunteers who will try to nurse them back to health. Those which survive may eventually be put up for adoption.
Goats and cats are still on the Tadic property, in a "stable environment" with a neighbor caring for them until they can be removed.

This lady lives about a mile and a half down the road from me. I thought she had gotten rid of her minis because her parents were in failing health. The front of her property is so overgrown you can't tell if she has anything in there.

OMG! Those pics are the worst I have ever seen! Do they have to work from X-rays before they start trimming? Those poor animals. Was this the one where the lady arrested was had only misdemeanor charges?
