Yet another Craigslist posting.
" 6 years, 14 2 appy not broke sweet mare CALL 253 355 0121 "
-I emailed the gal a bunch of questions and got this back
"im trying to rehome her to a good home ...it seems no one wants this poor horse i was hopeing to get her to someone who can aford to get her poor feet done...im have over done my self here...she was starveing to deth and i feed her good now but thats all i can offer her....."
I warned her about slaughter buyers posing as actual homes and asked where they were and if she had photos-OMG is this ever gonna get better?

An appy that no one wants? No such thing! Where is this horse? eta: Never mind. Did a reverse look up on the net. She's in Tacoma. So, who's gonna go get her?

I am tempted to go check on this one-we don't really need any more here-but if anyone needs help taking her in-I will do what I can. and the reverse phone number lookup thing is wierd-of course I typed in my number to see what it would come up with-and for a fee they will also tell you the home value and income of said person along with their name-wierd wierd wierd.

Yes, the reverse look-up thing is weird, but I've found a few KBs masquerading as 'good homes' that way.
I think I'll give this person a call later today and get more info.

I would love to have her. I'm just at a loss when it comes to the logistics.

Maybe I read some of the postings wrong, but it seems like some people are damned if they do and damned if they don't. This person said they got in over their head and can't take care of the horse like she should be taken care of and they want to re-home so that she CAN be taken care of properly, and yet they are getting put down for it. This is why people don't want to ask for help in the first place.

If we can figure out a way to get her to a layover spot in SOS's neighborhood, maybe she can catch a ride down with Tula!

basic foot care is not an "unusual or unexpected" expense-it is something one should have that in mind when taking in a horse. Forgive me for venting-no one has yet seen this horse-so we have no idea what to expect or how long she has gone with no foot care, and no one has put down this gal asking for help. So far we don't know how long she has had her or what the back story is. How soon would she need to be somewhere to catch a ride?

I will call the gal about making preliminary arrangements-she can come here on a temp basis until we figure out logistics.

I agree with you on this and I understand venting. I have been in the situation, however, where I was quite financially able to care for a horse when I got it but a year or two down the line even basic foot care became and impossibility and I needed to re-home for the sake of the animal. I would not have been fair to keep it no matter how much I loved her. That was simply my point....The unexpected happens and people should not be punished for it when they are trying to do what is right.

Wildwoman, many apologies. I didn't call you like I said I would. We had new horses come and one was injured, so she's kept me busy. I haven't come up with a plan to get this mare moved, but I know that her future isn't looking too bright if she isn't picked up soon. Not to the kb, but maybe just as bad imo.

Has she (M) been able to send you pix of her feet to see how bad they are or been in touch with you lately? I haven't heard too much at my end. I will try phoning her tomorrow if I don't hear back from you? I would like to help out if I can-but can't do anything long term.
