I have made it a habit to read Joes blog every morning. This morning he is posting a comment made by one of the kids that come and help him out. For a young girl, she makes so much sense. It's time for adults to learn from the kids...cause this little gals thoughts are right on!

Thursday, May 7th... How come when I shrink 4 pictures below to load, it only takes 20-25 minutes?
But if I show the entire picture, with dates, it takes over an hour...
How come I can go to our fields and Smoking Gears is all over me. The sweetest horse ever. But if I approach Smoking Gears with a halter and lead rope, he will not come close for days.
How come my three cheese omelette with mushrooms never looks like the three cheese omelette with mushrooms on Food Network?
How come I am going to allow the following to happen? Because Jodi Tuft did it. So did Jenny Hartman. Gary Duncan did it twice.
They wrote a few paragraphs on my morning journal. This was a long time ago. 2006 I think. Or maybe 2005. I was always mentioning the same names on my website, and thought it would be fun if you heard from them personally.
Those of you who have met Allison know she is a hoot. Allison first visited our ranch when she was 8, and now Allison is 13. Often on Wednesday nights Allison eats supper with us while her mom is at night class.
Allison has seen way too much bad. She has sat with Cathy and I while holding a dying horse. I am a big believer in kids knowing about life and all the ups and downs. But I also think both sides should be shown. Everything good in our world must take center stage.
A few weeks ago Allison asked if she could write something for my morning website. She said I let Jodi do it. And Jenny and Gary too. But I told Allison no. My ranch, my website, my choice. Several adults around me, including her mom, said please allow this. I read her paper and decided okay. Here is Allison, word for word:
I think people need to be held accountable. Joe says if you dwell on yesterday, then today serves no purpose. Screw that. I think you have to dwell on yesterday so the same bad things stop happening to animals. Over and over, the same terrible things. Every hour a new animal to help. Joe and Cathy have a little dog that was tortured and burned. He has lots of scars. They had a cat with only 3 legs, because some kids tied the cat up and cut off her other leg. They had a goat that was going to be a burrito. His name was Timex and lots of bad things happened to him, including sex. I used to sit with Timex and read to him. He would lay his head on my leg and listen to all my stories.
I ask Joe how come he never writes about the bad stuff that keeps happening to animals? Every freaking hour. People need to be held accountable.
Joe thinks he comes off as sappy. Joe wrote about Angie, the kid who wanted to meet Oscar Award. Me and Angie are good friends now. We talk and text at least 5 times a day. Oscar Award was dying, I swear to God he was. Angie came with her mom and she asked Joe could she say hi to Oscar. Me and Cathy and Joe were there too, and I will be a 100 and forgetfull but still remember that day. Angie started to pray. She was crying, and she prayed and asked God to make Oscar happy. Then Angie sang a song to Oscar called where have all the flowers gone. I learned that song now. Angie kept singing to Oscar and I told her she should try out for American Idol cause she is so good. I have watched horses die. Oscar was dying. But pretty soon Oscar stood and I had my first miracle. Joe and Cathy say if you pay attention there are miracles with horses. Angie and Oscar were my miracle.
Angie came to visit again two weekends after that. I was there and Oscar cried out when he saw Angie. That was so neat. Oscar is starting to look better now. Plus he has a nice hitch to his giddyup.
People need to be held accountable. The people that starved Oscar and all the other horses at Tbfriends should be put in jail. They should be fined lots of money at court. That money should go to help feed all the starving horses. I have a hard time understanding how people can do these things to animals. There is help out there if they need food or medicine. Are they too ashamed to ask for help? If you starve or torture your child you should go to prison. Well the same thing for an animal should happen.
I have been taught right from wrong. People should be held accountable when they do wrong.
Thank you for your time.
Allison
