Yea! I finally found myself a good steady riding horse. He's a previous rescue, 9yrs old, pretty broke apha gelding. His name is Takoda...not sure if he looks like a Takoda..what do you think? this is me trying him out(he'd only been ridden 3 times in the last 3 years but he did great)

I think he is gorgeous! What a great find! Perhaps you'll have to get to know him before you can tell if his name fits. Congrats!

Pretty boy!
Yeah, he needs something solid and dignified. Something that says "take me seriously - I'm not just a pretty palomino!"

Thanks, I'm very excited...it's been over a year since I've had a riding horse of my own. Oh, I should mention his registered name is Golden Chief Willy...so that's not going to work either! This is my first palomino and I think he is just gorgeous...he is so shiny in the sun. He still needs to put on a little more weight and get some proper foot care, but he rides great. Very solid. (this pic is from last summer)

Wow, you went from snow to browning grass pretty fast! You must be having the same wierd weather up there that we're having in Sonoma County!
Your boy is beautiful and it sure seems like you are happy to have him ~ congratulations!

yeah, this pic was taken in Oregon, around my house there is no grass at all. I never realized how lush it was living in Sonoma, I just went to visit a few weeks ago, tall grass and trees everywhere...it is like a desert here compared to there!
Thank you. I am happy. I can actually get on and ride, all the rest of the horses I've had were either too big or too small or too lame. Koda is awesome, a keeper for sure!
