Please see the RIP section ... Sundancer has posted about the totally unexpected death of her beloved mare, Beauty. When I can find the link to her blog I'll post it so you can see how much she loves her horses, and how much she loved Beauty in particular. Beauty was a CBER horse, same name on the feedlot, that Cheryl/Sundancer rescued in the fall of 2006. She has been much loved, and Cheryl was planning her first summer of getting to ride Beauty this summer. I know she'd appreciate your words of sympathy at this time.
Thanks,
Hope

No one knows. Beauty was fine at 9:30 p.m. the night before, and when Cheryl got to the ranch the next morning at 7:30 she found Beauty down and gone, with no signs on her body of injury, no signs in the dirt of thrashing or struggle. Just down and gone.
Cheryl is completely devastated, as any of us would be. She told me last night that she truly appreciates the words of support of the board members. Her husband has taken the day off work today to be with her, and they are going back up to the ranch to spend time with the other horses.

How aweful...that happened w/ an 8 y/o Paint at our barn last year....just looked like he decided to lay down and take a nap while walking into his stall......sounds like she went quick though, which may be a blessing.

Oh How awful :-( so sad-no warning-we have one that is over 30-so we know it is going to come someday-so at least we can be somewhat emotionally prepared-this is such a shock how sad for everyone. Yes-it does sound like it was a peacefull end-no thrashing or struggle-at least we can be glad for that. my condolences Lisa

It looks like Beauty laid down to take a roll and got cast in her corral and couldn't get up, perhaps hitting her head on the metal corral post. Whatever happened, it was quick.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I miss her terribly. She was such a wonderful mare, very loving to us all.
