PLEASE someone help this horse.
I went to look at a horse in Finley, WA. His ad was on a notice board at a gas station.
This gelding is in his teens, very skinny, ribs and hip bones protruding, sway back, down on his back legs, a large gash on his forehead....... A very friendly, sweet, tall gelding but in really, really bad shape. The owner said he was 14 years old.
There was no hay on the property. He was eating pumpkin vines that had been thrown into his pen.
I cannot take in another horse at this time. I have 18 rescue horses to care for through the winter.
Also every concerned citizen driving past would report us to the Sheriffs Dept. Our qurantine pens are visible from a busy, main road. Even though the Sheriffs Dept knows we do horse rescue, they have to come out EVERY time a complaint is made and unfortunately this horse will bring in many, many complaints.
If anyone is in the position to help this horse in DESPERATE need of rescue, call the owners at (509)737-7084 The owners do not speak much English, so calling to reprimand them, will not be helping this horse in any way. I believe the Sheriffs Dept will not be able to confiscate this horse either. They have no where to keep horses.
I did not have my camera with me, so did not get any pics.

I forgot to add that he is free.
I don't believe there is any danger of a kill buyer taking him. He is too thin.

This gelding is still on the same property and he has put on a lot of weight in the past few weeks. I believe the Sheriffs Dept is monitoring his progress.
His ad was taken off the notice board at the gas station. I would imagine everyone who went to see him would have reported them. I will keep an eye on him too.
