A little over two years ago I had to sell my dreamhorse (Norwegian Fjord) for I did not have the time. Well he went to a fancy barn in Seattle, but came back to us because he went crazy. Well Susan and Lisa, the girls that had bought him an boreded him at the barn in seattle said that he was too much for him. So they got in contact with these people in oregon. Rebecca and Matthew Hope. These people were suppose to take the fjord, lingen, in and help him with his issues.
Saturday I talked to Rebecca, just wanting an update on Lingen. She explained to me for that the two years he had him she couldn't earn his trust. He was a good riding horse, but on the trails he would spook, and take off a few steps and release a buck. She explained to me that she felt he was unsafe and that she was stuck on her decision. Well instead of selling him as a pasture mate or a normal riding horse that wouldn't be a trail horse she explained to me that she sent him down the road to a wild life zoo place where he was put down peacefully and fed to the lions.
Now I am shocked. First of all I LOVED this horse with all my heart, and so did my family. I am also 16. When I was older I had plans to find him and buy him back. Just because she was not a trainer, and he had some issues didn't mean he had to be killed of. For heaven sakes he was only 8 years old! So originally these people took Lingen in as sort of a rescue project. When they felt that they couldn't help him they killed him.
So strangely enough there is an update to this.
Today Susan (old owner) contacted the Wild safari place where he was sent. They claimed they don't take healthy young hores. If they get one then they go to a shelter. Susan then contact the people that sent him away. They got defensive at this fact and are becoming confusing.
I just want to know if anyone as heard of Matthe or Rebbecca Hope? They live in pleasant hill, OR and claim to be fjord 'people.' I know they are associated with a few clubs like the backcountry horsemen and others. So if anyone knows anything about these people that would be great if you could share the info.
Also if the shelter no longer wants him my family would more than willing LOVE to buy him back. After this whole deal, are deeply worried about him.
Also if you know of where Lingen (Loredo) might be?
Some facts:
He was sent to the wildlife safari sept 10th.
14.3-15hh approx
Can provide pictures for reference
Thanks!
