I am posting this with tears still falling. On Friday the 13th of July my beautiful Layla (Terryn) was lost to colic. I took her to the vet Friday morning and by that night they were saying surgery was the only option. After listening to the advice of her vet I decided at nineteen she was too old to try and we let her go about 10:40 that night. I am beyond comfort right now. She did so much in the time that we had. Riding club with me and 4H with my granddaughter. Someone's throw away horse was my treasure. Cisco and I will miss her forever. I know the time we had was a gift for her, but it doesn't make her loss any easier.

Oh, Kathy, I'm so sorry for your loss, hugs to you! I lost my arab to colic last november, it is not easy when you loose them either way. They are such a big part of the family, and will always be part of you.

Oh, I am so very sorry too! Early this year was tough on our family too as we lost 2 beloved older horses that were born here just a couple months apart, one was to colic that could not be treated. Thank you for giving this girl a wonderful home. Will be thinking of you, take care, H

Thanks for the reply. I'm so sorry about your losses. I am having a hard time with this. It doesn't seem to get any easier. I feel like I waited all my life for this horse. I wish there would have been some way of saving her. We brought Destiny here (Davenport FOB save) so at least our other horse has company.
