I haven't heard anything about the qt money not being met. Does that mean that Aries is still at the feedlot? If anybody has any news about that please let me know, and in the meantime I will try to call CBER. Thanks!

Welcome Rose! And thanks for caring so much about Aries. Horses are definitely an expensive pursuit. While I can afford the equines I have, I also do give up on luxuries or extras to put money toward them instead. Not that I mind one bit. Feedlot horses can be more expensive, initially, due to oftentimes the serious lack of care for sometimes months before they arrive at the lot. And because of this, it's good to save up first, and to also have an emergency fund in place for each of your equines. You have plenty of time to reach the point where you have your own farm/ranch and rescue horses. It's no fun (nor safe) when the money isn't there nor if you have to spend all your time worrying that some unexpected thing might go wrong that you can't afford to handle. Of course it's also not fair to the horse in those kind of scenarios. You can make a huge difference in a lot horse's life in many ways besides owning that horse yourself. That you care so much is a great start for these last-shot lives. Many believe they shouldn't be saved because of the politics involved. But tell those individual lot horses that, and I bet they'd beg to differ. I saved two of my equines from an equine rescue where they were neglected and starved -- and many people thought I shouldn't have done so, because in one point of view, my adopting those two would enable the "rescue" to take in two more. But in my point of view, those two equines deserved a better life, regardless of their circumstances. I know the front lines of lot rescue can always use a person like you who "gets it". Em All of my horses were free when I was growing up LOL....... I had no clue how much my father was putting out for their care. WOW....... Now I do............ Em..... I "GET IT" Boy O Boy do I GET IT........

Rose, As soon as I get word on the shipping details of Aries I will post the info. Another lady on here is trying to get her horse down to my area as well, so we should have that firmed up pretty soon. Thanks so much for all your loving care! Tasha Tasha..... Suzi and I have both worked our butts off with this. I have been keeping her up-dated with this because she is not in this site. She does not have time. I am sure that she too would love to see Aries.....That mare will REALLY know what love it when she sees us on the way down......... I am so happy that this worked out for her. I would have taken her had you not and yeah I would have had a big road ahead of me. I am a go getter and somehow, someway, I would have figured this out........ Tasha........ you saved Aries and me LOL........ You are such an angel Love Rose.................
Jennifer.... I am going to get a a camera for this just in case.................................

QT has not been paid as yet. According to the rules, no horse is to be pulled off the lot until ALL fees are paid. her balance due is still $300.00.

Hi everyone. I believe I have found Aries a ride from Roseburg to SoCal, but I need some help in getting her there. Does anyone have any suggestions or can anyone help in that department? I appreciate it!

Hi Tasha,
You may want to start a new thread in the General section. It will probably get more visibility.

I appreciate that! Sometime after the 22nd of this month she should be ready to come home. Sam is trying to clean up her nose a little before trying to get the go ahead from the vet.

Jennifer... I am checking with peoples at the race track this weekend to see if anyone can give her a ride. Also, my offer STILL STANDS for filling up the truck or whatever she is being hauled in for deisel or gas. These are details that can be worked out before she leaves Yakima. I am checking U-Haul too... The only problem there is I can't drive this thing. Suzi would have to cause it is really a mess in the area where she is RE: snow and bad road conditions..... I don't want to drive into the Columbia River with her on that truck........ Egaaaaaaaaaads........ Anyway... just letting you know that I am still working on this... Tasha.... I put my email up so you can email me directly if you want to........

Depending on when he's ready to go, road conditions and Faraway's schedule, I may just go up to Yakima myself. I could potentially take another as far south as Redding, but it's my sister's trailer so would have to ask. It's sad to haul one horse that far alone, plus filling the other slot would help avoid the temptation of picking up a spare!

Well in that case, since I have some time and a little breathing room from my studies, I need to find another horse there that captures my heart. I have been cooresponding with a woman here that has been finding one home right after another for me until I can get my stable and land all set up...... I "think" that by next summer, I will have the resources to get going with the building of a place for "some" horses...... Yeah I know the money.... That is there just not with me yet. When I do get it, I know that this is what I want to do........ I sure am glad I took Strategic Planning LOL.................

Hey! I think I saw her when they dropped off Raz. I didn't know which horses they had since the switched back to the 4 horse trailer. I think I may have led her around as they were shuffling horses. Long trip - how's she doing? Congrats!

She is doing good. She is VERY sweet, pretty mellow. Took everything in stride. I would swear she is pregnant. Having the vet come out in a few days to get her shots done so will find out more then. I will post pictures tonight.
