This is a GORGEOUS boy. He is a shorter draft - perfect for riding!!! He is put together well and his coloring is beautiful. I WANT him - although, I don't know about sneeking him into my barn without hubby noticing and me getting physically killed!!!! Can someone take him that knows drafts? Sara

I would take him in a heartbeat if he was well broke, but I just don't need to add another horse to the training roster right now.

Ya - if he was well trained I could sneak him in easier - hubby keeps giving me a hard time because my kids that are sound are all VERY green(well, Kadin has about 25 rides, but is not solid for sure!)
He is awesome though - he looks more like a belgian cross or possibly a belgian/haflinger cross. PERFECT riding size!

I LOVE Him!!! I can't have him, but I think he is the perfect horse - green isn't bad as long as he gets a good foundation under him - I bet with 30 days of training, he would be well on his way to becoming a great horse. Doodle was basically just like this, didn't know anything, but was a good boy. I put him with a trainer for 30 days, and now we are out on trails, and he is such a good boy! The older, calm, draft crosses seem to train easily and quickly. At least you won't be retraining other peoples mistakes. I like the blank slate.
Just my two cents..........someone will be getting a very nice horse.

You should go to the CBER website and follow the donate link there. go to columbiabasinequinerescue.org/DEF-Home.aspAny amount of donations is truly appreciated. Please indicate which horse you are donating to and give a second choice if Cavalier does not need the donation. Thank you

Sorry to talk about Kate so much but she knows Miss spicey-racer! This woman who I have never met is responsible for saving one of my all time favorite TB's. Red River Valley who lives with Joe. She has saved who knows how many lives in Nor Cal. Let's help this horse get to her.

I think Spicey needs to clear it with CBER that her transportation costs are going to be her investment............This is my favorite horse this time around........

It seems on the ABR board that Christine from Gentle Giants is trying to save Cavalier....but is having trouble reaching anyone from CBER. Can someone help?? Jen, Leanne?? Also a rescue from MD is trying to save Pastel and combine shipping

It seems the rescue in MD is not willing to pay his QT, so I wouldn't count on them to take Pastel or Cavalier...........
I don't know if anyone can nicely explain *why* quarantine is necessary - here, not in MD. They want to QT them after they arrive in MD.............

We need to be able to resolve this glitch because we have no other option for these 2 deserving horses.....I would look at it like any other horse where the adopter pays bail, and we try to raise the rest of the QT - especially since they have a long haul to ship. Isn't that how apache does her adoptions....
Gentle Giants is having trouble talking to anyone at CBER besides Jeff. Can someone else, even Sam from a cell phone give them a call at least.....we all have to go the distance here or more people will lose faith in CBER and worst of all, the horses will die. There has to be communication.
Christine at Gentle Giants posted her cell phone # on the AB for anyone needing to contact her regarding Cavalier....so for the powers that be here, the cell is 443-285-3835.
We are all here for the same reason so lets get going.

Yes, I would hope that the east coast rescues could respect CBER's requirement to quarantine - it was put in place for a reason - and they could just ask for help with the QT fees. Sometimes the PS's are hard to get a hold of...........but you have to remember they are probably fielding alot of inquiries, and they do have lives of their own......... I too hope this can be worked out......$300 a month for meds, feed, and care is reasonable - some of these horses need some weight put on (cavalier is not one of them!!!!!) so it can be more expensive for some, less for others..........and this includes hauling them from the lot. Just my two cents. I'm with you - I think Cavalier is wonderful, he has such a soft eye............ We need updates is Cavalier adopted, does he have any funds raised? Did the MD rescues adopt him, or did they back out. We need to know so he and Pastel do not get lost and forgotton until the last minute. Please can we have a official update on him and Pastel So if there is something to be done we can try to do it.
