I'll put in $50, it's the $50 that Aleta donated to let me adopt Pete. Marlene, I'm sending it in as a check, so no Paypal fees.

If we mail a check, do we just put her name on it? Or is it to late to use the slow mail?

Sent Marlene and email letting her know to expect the check. I sent in $5, wish it could have been more, but payday is still a week away. Sending good thoughts that this little sweety and her baby make it to a good home.

You know, if everyone sent a dollar for every time they looked at this thread, K.Katydid would be safe.
Please, let's get moving on this! No donation is too small! Even if the truck doesn't come tomorrow, the feedlot is no place for a pregnant mare.

fivemile, please reconsider Kelly's loan offer. If you get in trouble paying it back, you can let us know and get help, but at least Katydid and her foal will be safe. I accepted Kelly's loan for KittyKat and Lori. You really sound like the perfect home for her since you have the facilities for foaling and are so familiar with it. We won't desert you if you get in trouble, honest!!!

I second that. Please consider Kellys loan offer. Rescueall is right. If you need help in paying it back we will not desert you.

What if I took her home and foaled her out and then we adopted them out after they were safe and healthy? Then maybe the adoption fees would cover the loan I will have to take from Kelly to get her? I don't know how this works so I hope I'm not saying something wrong. I'm new and don't know how this is done. I just want to help her and the foal.

I am fairly new here but maybe that would work. Maybe someone else will let you know for sure.

That scenario might work.
From experience, I would suggest that you need to expect to support Katy and foal for a minimum of six months, in order to find a proper adoptive home. Sometimes, longer.
Talk to Kelly about how long she can wait before the loan is paid back.
I hope you can work it out!

I really hate to be a wet blanket here, because I really like this horse. But, fivemile, what are you going to do if there are foaling complications with Katydid? It sounds like you are short on funds and a foal out gone wrong can cost alot of money. Not to mention the foal will be eating like a horse in a short amount of time.
I want to see this mare safe too. But she needs to be with someone who can cover any emergencies that may go with her pregnancy. You can not count on someone else to pay the bills, believe me, it will not happen.

I still feel confident about her home offer. we can get this mare safe

I agree with Hillarie. Jill seems to be the right person at the right time to save this mare and we all need to dig deep today to get funds in to save Kadydid.
