I actually joined CBER through the internet, I never said anything untill Ying Yang snf Dixie, they said the whole story of Ying Yang was made up, ok what ever. They said that Dixie was not a CBER horse, and what ever happened to her was not there problem, which would be better than comming up with lies saying she was in a good home and then Being put down the next day, whatever!!!! I just hung around to see how and what they said about the horses, it's just amazing how they can get people to believe them.. Anyway I wish the horses the best....

I posted on the cber forum requesting a well check on Dixie. They BANNED ME FOR IT. (Helen posted that I did a hit and run, in effect, by requesting a well check and never responding. I was banned Helen.) I made exactly three posts, and was banned immediately.
All I did was ask that they make sure the mare was okay.
Think about that one: WHY would I be banned for that, when they said that Dixie was adopted and happy in her new loving home? This is before it came out on the FHOTD blog. Either Karan or Diane banned me, they were the only staff on line at the time. It doesn't say a lot for their innocence in this nightmare. According to them, they didn't even know Dixie coliced until Diane's "investigation" of the Fugly report, TWO DAYS LATER.
So again...if they are innocent and telling the truth....why was I banned for asking for a welfare check on this particular mare?
The reason I never contacted Diane was because it would be pointless. CBER people were the ones behind sending Dixie back to Chuck's. The only way to bring attention to this was to get innocent supporters of CBER not involved in the fraud and deception to ask questions about this mare, and follow up on her. Otherwise, no one would ever know what happened to her. Asking them to check up on Dixie is like asking the fox to guard the hen house. At least three cber people know exactly what happened to Dixie: The founder of cber and current "qt" specialist, the adopter and legal owner of the horse, and the trainer that the adopter/owner sent the horse to. All of them have been CBER volunteers, and two of them were Board members. They are too busy covering their own butt's and trying to pin the blame on each other to bother with telling the truth on their forum. They should have been careful who they talked to about this, thinking that their friends are okay with sending a horse back to slaughter. Not the case.

Sherry, I've been curious what it was that sparked people to be concerned about Dixie to begin with. Did you hear something about her fate elsewhere, or was it just an unlucky coincidence (and I mean unlucky for CBER) that you were interested in this mare specifically? I think I know the answer, because I know (now!) how the taint of CBER gets wafted around, but I'm just wondering.

I asked about this mare specifically because someone with first hand knowledge from one of the parties involved let locals and other rescues know what was done to this horse, and why. It was devastating to them that someone in "rescue" would do this, and not even think that it was the wrong thing to do, or unethical. Anyone that would do this to Dixie is most definitely NOT anti-slaughter.

Thanks; I had a feeling that is what happened. And I guess the thing that boggles my mind is that every step we trace this back, it takes us further back in days before the alleged colic and euthanasia, ie people were getting reports of a problem BEFORE she coliced. And yet CBER still can't just rustle up enough cahones to admit the truth.
