Hi guys, I just heard that Mistletoe did get off the lot, and to Deb's, as someone paid her bail. plus a little. I don't know how much 'extra' is gotten, or WHERE! but... we DO still need to raise her shipping to CA, which is $425, and her QT, which is $8 a day, for 2 weeks (or until shipping can go... weather wise), about $125, plus the Vet clearance... I'll get the estimate for that Monday from the Mapleway vet... about $100 or less is my recollection for when Sundance was done.  We have offered a home only... but this gal needs to get finished with the rest of her stuff! Can anyone help? from her original thread there is a $25 pledge... thanks, Beth |

I'll help. Let me think about this. I've had fund raising on my brain today, and have been wondering about a tack auction, or something on that order, with proceeds to go to one or another of our rescue organizations.

Thanks Ebo... I was so hesitant to agree to home her... just because I know how this part goes... we are all gung ho to get them safe from the truck.... but deep breathing when it's over... Poor Mistletoe is only 'half' safe... she got off the lot... but we can only offer the home... Is anyone willing to drive her to Oregon? Then to S. Oregon or N. CA? I'm willing to drive north Part way, but have to drive alone, and can't do 3 days straight alone... and my diesel will cost as much as a transport... but maybe we can get her here via caravan? Deb is QTing her now, and she is only in need of 2 weeks, since she is 'over' a strangles... once the scabs go, she can travel... and I'll QT her here more.... But we need to get some money to Deb for her board... Does anyone know 'who' bailed her? and Heidi said there was 'some extra' money... I hope that is enough for at least some of her QT... that'd be nice... we can do this!!! Let's keep workin' for little Mistletoe!!! Tack room cleanouts anyone?  Anyone else love the Rhythm Beads?? maybe I could have some made with various colors... and sell for her? hmmmm.... I'll work on it too.... but I have to work on raising funds for initial labs, vet, QT here and pergolide! not to mention her hoof care... she appears to have foundered on at least the fronts from pics... it'll be some rehab for her.... little cutie pie! |

TB Friends is trying to get a TB from Wa to Joes. I have written them to see if we could work together to get these horses to CA.

Hmmmm....
I figured out gas money once for this trip...
I wonder... if money was raised for gas for both horses...
that might make it half the cost for each...
are there any more horses who need to come South?
TB Friends is not too far off the path to my house.

Oh boy...
I'm worried about Mistletoe...
We can only offer the home, and I have to be very honest....
there is no way in the near future that we can afford to pay for her board, or for her shipping, or for her coggins/health cert...
With the new truck coming... I am hoping this can be pulled off...
Mistletoe got off the lot, but that is only half the picture...
she has to be shipped down to us.
Can anyone help her?

I just received an offer from kustom hauling to haul Mistletoe and Joes TB to NorCal. Beth, and Deb, can you help me work with these folks? I have pasted their response below.

Mistletoe will need vet certification, but Deb thinks 2 weeks of QT is good... she is already there a few days, so mid-week following this one she will be ready.
I assume the TB is ready to go too....

Heres another possibility for transport... This is from one of the mustang groups.
On another issue ... one of our horses will be heading to the Spokane
area within the next month. Does anyone out there have any horses they
would like hauled either from the Spokane area down here or to the
Spokane area from here? Let me know and I can put you in touch with the
appropriate people and maybe some sort of arrangements can be made!

I do not know Washington, is Spokane near the lot?
Kustom Hauling will be going on her trip the weekend of Feb 9th...

I think you should keep to the Corvallis route. If you look at the map, Spokane is WAY EAST of where you want her to be...even if she ends up in Bend, that's still a lot of extra trailer time. If she goes through Corvallis its straight down I-5 all the way pretty much to Clayton (unless you were picking her up elsewhere...)

What is the date you need Mistletoe in Corvallis? Just for conformation is she still in Yakima ? That about 530 miles round trip from the valley area (Corvallis) up to Yakima and back to the valley...

Let's get in touch with one of the usual haulers, Lori or the Name-I've-Just-Forgotten--Jim and somebody, retired, make a trip up and down the coast fairly often, last name starts with N. As long as they're going, they might have room for a pony for 250 miles or so. How about it?

I am looking forward to the trip... maybe I can see some of the rescues yearling from the last batch that were saved. It's been a while since I been to Yakima..
I will need directions to get to Deb's farm or where Misletoe is?
I do have a question, about QT do I need to be careful not to let her near other horses still. I have a friend in The Dalles area that offered a stall for a rest stop... want to make sure her horses are safe.. and about feeding Mistletoe.. does she need low cal hay or a special diet while in my care.. Want to make sure we get her to Cal healthy and sound..
