Dear Connie, I am so sorry it took me so long to get back with you and please forgive me for being behind on three months board and the vet bills you have put out towards morph. I agree with many people he is getting super care at your place his eye worms are gone and that is a great feeling to know we kicked there butts. i am ever so grateful for you stepping in so many times and helping me with money feed and hoof care for morph when i was not able to do so for myself. I have taken a step back and looked at my life and the things going on and how things are so different than i had ever planned moving to cali was supposed to help me start over and get over darrel and our seperation. a new house a new life and a new job, i hate the job i miss my old friends at my work i miss my house i miss my life with darrel we have been talking over the last two months. I am going home Connie , I hope you understand and i hope morph will understand I am 3 months behind on board and thats 450.00 dollars and then the three vet visits at 250.00 for them and his hoof care is 150.00 i know if i just give him to you to find a home for you wont fail him like the trainer did that i bought him from and know i have failed him to. But i cant afford to take him home and board him out anywhere connie, i was so hopeful that his eyesight would be completly regained and the last vet statement you sent me stated he has cataracts and can only see light and dark and moving again will only upset him and i cant afford board on two horses. Please forgive me connie I have already stopped and seen morph and gave him kisses and loves and told him how sorry i am but it is best for him i miss my husband and i know we cant afford the horses untill we own a place again Thank you connie please take care p.s Morphieus A.k.a Rock N moon is know yours please find him a home Thank you lori Deets

No she did not pay any of the back board or bills but that wont reflect his price. he just needs a mommy for the rest of his life.

OMG this poor horse has just had the worst luck. I wish I would have taken him when I fell in love with him at the lot. But I know my limitations and did not offer too as I already have 8 horses. I just pray that a stable. loving, forever home comes forward who will love him until his last day. This is just too sad.

People do crazy things when they're in love. Unfortunatly, the love was not for the horse. I'm so sorry that you have that suddenly dropped on you, blazinsaddles. I can't believe she won't drop a dime.... Can you post pics of Morph? Where are you located? Let's find Morph his forever home!!

I would have purchased Morpheus outright on the lot if I had the room. He is one of the most stunning horses I have ever seen, and wish more than anything that I could make him mine, but that is not possible. Someone please step up for this beautiful boy. There is a chance that his cataracts can be taken care of, there is a new surgery being pioneered in the UK that is very successful. They break the cataract up with ultrasound, and then make a small cut and flush the debris out. www.liv.ac.uk/newsroom/press_releases/2006/02/equine_cataract_surg.htmOf course, I have no idea how much it would cost, or even who does this sort of surgery here in the state, but I am sure an Internet search would turn that up. Point is, there is still a chance to save his sight, and even if he goes completely blind, it isn't the end of the world. I know blind horses that compete. You have to learn how to be their eyes, but they can be ridden.

Rock n Moon is registered, so I am sure we get an accurate age on him. Blazin, were his papers turned over?

I hate it too!!!
This is so sad. Blazin' thank you for taking such good care of Morph. I cannot give him a home but would like to help until he finds one. I am sorry that you ended up in this predicament. I know that you have and will continue to care for him, but would like to help a bit. It is not much, but I can send $25 a month to help with his care. I wish it was more. Please let me know where to send it.
*** We can put him on the CBER site if you'd like. It would give him more exposure and we can screen the adopters for you. The adopter will be approved by you (final home is your call!!! ), but if you want, will be approved by CBER first. Contact me if this as an option that you are comfortable with. Also, we can put him up without the CBER screening process. We'd just direct inquiries straight to you.

Caryn, that's a great idea. And you know what else? This will sound insane, but I have been assisting in equine cataract surgery since I was in kindergarten. There is a small incision made into the cornea, the lens is removed, and a new and improved lens can even be implanted! A small set of sutures closes the incision. The laser surgery Spyder writes about makes so much sense, too. I wish we could find a loving, generous teaching school (UC Davis?) that would donate the surgery (bilaterally). My father would do it were he not a quadriplegic, I am certain.
I cannot believe this is happening, Connie. I am so sorry. Please, let us know how we can help. I think we need to start a fund for Morphieus. Do you have a Paypal account? Can we start putting together funds to help?

First his owners dump him at the lot, and this is the second time an adopter has abandoned this poor boy. We need to help Blazin make sure his next home is his best, and last.

Have you considered Rolling Dog Ranch? They are a sanctuary for blind horses in Montana. He would be safe with them. As I recall, the address is rollingdogranch.com

For the back bills, I know how it can be a burdan to carry. You can carry a barn lein. But since she has no intentions to take him, you can sue her. If you were seriously needing the money and wanted this justified. You can go to the courts and have it taken care of. I have had to do this personnaly and it could just solve things for you. I am not trying to be mean or anything, but it is an option.
There is no excuse to leave on such conditions and just "give you" the horse without first consolidating with you first. -sigh-
I hope Morph finds a great home. I can list him on our website if you wish. (www.outreachrescue.tk) It's the most I can do at the moment, but every bit helps right?

Funny thing, this "second" adopter has not been totally truthful from the start. I know for a fact she did not have to pay anything for the horse out of pocket, the previous person got stuck with over $900 in bills and plus also the vet bill for the gelding surgery from the first so called adopter.

This is a sad situation for Morph, and a huge thank you to Blazing...I think (lori) may be confused about her poor choices, I remember when she had to get away from the husband, sounds like a co-dependent or possible battered women syndrome, and the pets always are on the ones to suffer.

no money had exchanged hands for morph it was a pony that was traded that lori had and the pony was dead broke to ride and pull a cart but was to small for her to ride( this is what she had told me anyways and i did drop a pony off to the lady ) but that is all a past and the past can not be changed
he is sound and he does see light and dark shadows and thats why he spooks if we are walking him by himself. he is 20 and his papers are on there way from the breeder I sent him the money it took me a bit longer because i had been supporting no just morph but all 25 that were hear on my 7.50 an hour job
morph has been ridin under saddle a few times by my daughtyer we had started his training for lori before all this and just kept going with it but he has only been in the round pen and lead around under saddle 15 times so he is still green
caryn that sounds like a good idea to put him up on the site
and yes i had thought of rollingdog but i dont have the money to get him there so thought i would post hear so people could see what was going on with him
my paypal addy is kustomhauling1@yahoo.com that would be great for any help sent my way. you guys are great

This makes me so angry and sad. This second adopter caused all kinds of trouble on some of the other boards for CBER. Now to dump this poor horse and leave blazin with all the bills, well I can't post what I would like to say. Let this be a reminder that with adoption of these horses comes the unknown, I have been blessed with two absolutely beautiful horses and with excellent care, they are getting better by the day. The oldest one does have a few issues but hopefully they can be worked through. Horses are expensive especially if you don't own property. For the horses sake and those good people like blazin's sake, please think before you buy and make sure you can uphold your end of the deal. Now I feel better. We need to start a fund for Blazin. Where can we donate?

yes she did do many things wrong and that unfortunatly cant be changed morph has a friend here who keeps him calm and he loves her gets upset ad afraid when she leaves him he has a 60x60 that he stays in and she hangs out in there or sometimes i put her on the outside and as long as she doesn't go far ( which she never does) he is relaxed he has a stall for bad weather and she hangs out in the barn aisleway by his stall door and he is quiet as a mouse

...and the pets always are on the ones to suffer. and children. Hope she doesn't have any. MTA: Morph is a unique and beautiful horse. I'm worried if he's rehomed someone will take him for his looks, but not worry about his blindness until it's too late. With rollingdog, do you have to pay for retirement there or do they work off general fund? He seems safe at blazin's until absolutely the best home can be found, so we need to help.

okay, so we need to see if we can help Blazin with backboard, and vet bills, how much is the backboard, how much would it cost to cover board? Maybe we can find some sponsors for a bit, until he finds a new home, where he can retire?
He is a gorgeous boy, I think he's got lots of fans here!!!!

Gosh, I am so sorry this woman has dumped Morph on you, unpaid bills and all. What a jerk. As if giving you the horse somehow absolves of her of all responsibility! Some "gift"!! She sounds like a real loser.

Blazin, I have a Petfinder site, is it okay with you if I post him there? I will run the wording for the posting by you first, of course. Please PM with his price and any other details you can think of. I want to help Morphy any way I can.
