oh Fuji, I remember that picture, what a sweet girl. I'm so sorry you lost her.
Tiereddog, you took so many wonderful horses that nobody wanted to/could take, I think we all are thankful for that!!!

I sent some photos to you! Wonderful is grulla and, of course, Fuji is not. But they still have the same, precious, Shaggy DA, couch look. Did you ever guestimate at Fuji's age? What a strong, beautiful gal. Thank you for loving her and being her companion.

Not really sure of her age. she had all of her teeth, loose but present. Best guesses ranged up into the late twenties to thirties. She was so healthy it was difficult to guess well. Her brother, with whom she was unintentionally separated from at the lot, died just weeks before her.

tireddog,
In light of all that has happened in the past week, maybe we should remind people about the "party" at your place in July. Suddenly I think it might need to be a reunion of sorts!

Oh Jen, you and I are channeling each other - we are so in tune! For the past two days I have been thinking about posting something about the camp-out. However, I do not want to do my typical "Oh, let's just sprinkle some pretty pink fairy dust all over ourselves and braid each other's hair and everything will be just fine." I don't want to skate over the current situation. But I also want everyone to know how very excited I am to meet you all (those who I have not yet met) and reconnect with others again. For so many reasons, I am SO looking forward to summer and the camp-out. I want to throw out an offer. For every bowling ball someone brings to the camp-out, you get a free night of camping! It's a "The Big Lebowski" thing. (If you haven't seen it, watch it!) If you are renting a dwelling, we will work out a price break. Yes, I am a weirdo who collects bowling balls - I put them on top of the railroad ties used for our fencing. Yes, cutiepiepmu - they are securely affixed! Don't worry! I used to use bowling balls in my garden (city garden, not vegie garden) for outdoor parties - the finger holes hold taper candles perfectly, and they are perfect for nighttime, outdoor parties. Now they adorn my pastures ... but I need more! Just so you know, Sharon (Faraway Travel) has even brought me bowling balls - my two favorites - pink and purple! They sit at the opening of the gates to the front pasture. I have so much I want to say. I started to post earlier, before dinner and after two beers. "Mother f**k*r" was written way too many times; I am so sorry Michelle P.; I know you do not like cursing, and I do not blame you. I apologize for my vulgarity. But there are times - and now is one of them - when I am so d**n tired of wearing my la-la-la-happy-times face and singing "It's a Small World" through the pain. Jen, you wrote about the pony club mother and daughter in one post. Kirsten, in a recent post you wrote simply, "This is sad." This is sad. This is so unbelievably sad. And no matter what - even though what we know to be true and has been revealed - we are seen as the bad guys now by the CBER crew. For all the support, all the money, all the time, all the energy, all the looking the other way we have done - because we are facing the truth, we are rejected. Okay. I am having a little pity party. I will get over it. And then I will get mad - really, really mad. I had a crazy, pea-brain fantasy that by me opening my eyes and facing the truth that somehow Sam would say, "Wow. This has got to stop. I need time off to regroup and get off this path." What a stupid ass I have been. Don't worry. I'll get over it. I am just so overwhelmed by all we are learning. I know this is difficult for everyone. On that note, let's have a magical, wonderful, rejoining of forces this summer at the camp-out. Remember: WE are a strong, powerful, intelligent group of wonderful people who can move mountains if we want. There's no reason why we cannot continue to save horses. Don't forget the bowling balls ... And I like bowling pins, too, although they are more difficult to come by.

Oh Amy Jo! You have such an amazing spirit! About the pity party...I'll bring the vodka! lol...we all have been through it...and its sad that such amazing, compassionate, strong willed, determined and respected women tried to help CBER, tried to put their faith in themselves and in CBER that perhaps finally some good can happen, that CBER could finally change....but there are forces that are just not willing this to happen. I am just happy that finally everyone is speaking out about their experiences. It needs to happen, the stories need to be told.......and in time...we can only hope that the truth will finally overcome. xo, Kirsten

Vodka? Tequila? Okay ... I am feeling a little better.
I really can't wait. Uh ... I make a mean lemon drop (vodka), and Bridget (earlybp) made some awesome margueritas at the camp-out last summer. This is going to be very healing for us all. I, for one, really need this camp-out.
Did I hear that someone is going to start Ivy under saddle?

I think we've got you covered ... and then some! I think we should start a list of who is coming just so we can all continue to get more and more excited about summer and the camp-out! When you are ready, let me know and I will start a list if everyone's game.

Hey AmyJo, Whens the campout? Dont worry about the vulgarity, I was raised by a construction worker so I can cuss with the best of them and make up some pretty interesting sayings if Im mad enough. I once defended my little brother on the playground at school by telling a bully "I will rip your head off & sh!t down your neck" the kid never bothered my brother again. I think I was only in the 4th grade........Anyways, we may try and make it to your campout depending on whats happening w/Sampson. He goes to the vet on Saturday to make sure that his seizure or whatever it was was hopefully a one time thing. Im hoping the big lug just wanted to scare the crap out of his momma which he did. Depends on vacation schedules & gas prices too. Hopefully we can come. We will bring a variety of alcohol, beer, wine, whiskey. We ususally have too much booze not enough food. Go figure.

Sweet Michelle, I already have two extension cords already plugged in and waiting for Hubby's sleep apnea machine. I know it's a little premature, but a girl can dream. Thank you for not being upset with my language. Sometimes I get upset and don't want to stuff it or hide it. This is one of those times, and I thank you all for putting up with it. I promise to be on my best behavior during the camp-out, unless Dean brings too much tequila, Jen brings too much vodka, and/or Tash brings too much rum. Oh dear ...
Which brings me to you, darling Susan, and the blackmail material you will undoubtedly have from me alone! I will be with you, too, playing with Sir Prize. He will be camping by the yurt; maybe you and I could sneak off with him and take him down to the creek behind the yurt! I wonder if we could train him to lay down in the hammock ...
The camp-out is tentatively planned for the week of July 6th. We are really flexible, and I think there is a group who may be camping in California the weekend prior. So we can do a mid-week or weekend or both. We are ready, willing, and able! And judging from last year, there will be way more food than all of us can eat. Don't worry about food. We have loads of options for food and like Beth noted, we even have a liquor store - open seven days a week - out here in Timbuktu.
Gotta run ... Sally needs something ... I will write more later. But let's plan a catered brunch and other fun stuff. I cannot wait for Swissy to ride Ivy! Whoo-hoo! (Ivy has become a halter nice for money - if I come into the pasture with the halter, she is the first to get to me and try to stick her nose in it! Go figure.)

I have a bottle of Vodka from Russia I have sitting at home. It's just waiting for that perfect moment to be opened, I think this would qualify, so if I can make it, I will bring that.

Beth and Kelly D., you both took loads of photos. Do you have the links to where the photos are posted? I will go and check the camp-out thread on this board from last year and see if Miss Kelly's pics are there. Figi, I am so excited to meet you!
We will have to take many more photos this year for our blog. Okay? Okay!

I'd love to come to. I wanted to join in last year, but couldn't make it. I'll probably fly up and camp, so no horsies coming with. If I can borrow a mount to trail ride, that would be wonderful, but not necessary. It would just be great to meet y'all in person BTW: I'll bring the beer...I stay away from the hard stuff. It's not pretty, trust me
