He sure got the royal treatment- even a dip in the pool. Glad to hear it went well- did they tell you what the prognosis is for any future problems?

Beejoyful called and said that as of 4:00 PM Yosemite has still not eliminated. They said that the compaction is to high in the intestine tract to reach manually. WSU is still hoping that he will pass it normally- they stated to early to talk surgery. Keep on sending him jingles. Did you ever think that you would be praying for poop? Hang in there Yosemite your new family is waiting for you. There is not a better place for a horse to live than with Beejoyful.

Poor guy! Doing the poop dance for you!
Is this caused by stress or general anesthesia? Guess Yos is in the right place for this to happen.

Usually, hind gut colics are easier to manage than foregut colics. And did they specifically say it's an impaction? (I would expect gas.) Nonetheless, if your horse is going to colic, I can't think of a better place for it to happen. Hope it's resolved by now. Jingles.

Joan,
You have definitely had your share of bad luck with the horses............but please don't give up. They really need you. I have been down this colic road with my PMU mare - impaction - and after a day or so on fluids, she would bounce back. Hang in there......... this must also be a financial burden for you.....so if we can help, please let us know.
