July 1, Sunday.... Sarge moves to a new barn. His new digs will be much safer (eye issues) and he will have his own pasture section next to other horses but not in with them. His stall and attached run are top notch (little 4 stall barn) and built by a carpenter that owns horses..I am pleased ... The stable is called "Hoofbeats" and the lady that owns it does Search and Recue on horseback for the King County Police!! I will get pictures to have Lisa post soon.... (Thank you Lisa!!)

I told Rodeo51 how tall Sarge was and when she came to see him at his new digs she was all but speechless at his Almightiness. Needless to say she loved him and his new place. I enjoyed meeting her!!Rocky

I have one thing to say about Sarge.....He is one big boy! His new digs are to die for and he should be very happy there. When he got out of the trailer and wandered around the arena, everyone really took notice. He is such a big sweetie and really has a commanding presence about him. It will be great when Rocky can post some pics of him and his new place. It was great to meet you Rocky. :-)

In the arena picture, is that a news helicopter reporting on Sarge's move? If I come back as a mare, just don't put me in with any stallions, please. Geldings only! You could call me "pony girl" for short, but I'd like my registered name to be "Diva Divine Sarge's Silly Shortcut Sally". Sadly, I would probably be a Belgian or Suffolk Punch, not a TB.

Sarge is adapting well to his new barn and life style(do horses have life styles?) anyway, yesterday I suited him up and off down the street we went.We saw mules, a riding lawn mower and kids yelling, playing baseball. Sarge took it all in>>>>> Sarge is the most aware horse I have ever ridden ,it is as if he really is patrolling. He is every bit the All in Sarge Almighty. Just wormed and lookin good. Pic's soon...

Aaawww, rocky and Lisa- this has been such a positive, filled with promise thread- I love reading every word of it.
Isn't it wonderful that you will have Sarge with you much longer than we all thought? And what an outrage it was that he was in such poor condition at the feedlot...
He is truly a magnificent horse...

Somehow you can see Almighty Sarge's strength, calmness and capability- every thing a patrol officer should be...all wrapped up in the most elegant and impressive being...

An update of sorts. August 9,2007. I am re- teaching Sarge to load...... there are so many places that I could take him if I could get him to load easily,,,,,shows, the mountains, the beach and hey , a trip to see Lisa.. Other things, I have been getting on him "the Indian side" from a bucket on the ground. We have been doing some canter work down the center of the outdoor arena. Mostly, we take it slow and easy still building muscle...Bye for now...Rocky
