Pete got his second chance today and did not ship. If Sam can beg for him not to ship, then we all can come through for him today and finally get him off that lot....he could rest so much better in QT and regain his strength.
We can do this! For Pete!!!!!

Where is everyone? We were all so worried about him after he came up lame the other night. Please send in some donations, no matter how small, and let's get him off of the lot. He needs some TLC and a calm place so that he can heal.

We have got to keep donating some funds for Pete. We can't let all of the efforts so far fall short for him...Can we raise some funds tonight? He should not be walking around on that really bad frozen bumpy ground....he needs some TLC. I don't think any of us want him to stay there another week. Please take a little money from this week's coffee or lunch money and give it to Pete. It is not so much to ask to get this poor guy safe.

Who is the home offer for Pete? Does anyone have any idea why he is not sound? Would it be worthwhile to have a vet or farrier look at him so the adopter knows what they are up against?

Hello all Most feedlots are build on concrete and are very large. As broke as this horse is he was most likley someones favorite so that means he would get used alot. Could you imagine running chasing cows for 8-10 hours a day on cement? Lots of horses would show up lame after a couple of days. I belive that with TLC and a couple good shoeings he would be fine for trails, kids, pasture riding lots of options for this nice horse. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I agree. As long as you're not planning on riding around on concrete all day, bet he'd be fine. He'd probably love the nice footing of a trail!

Ditto. My thoughts, too. Bet he could use a couple of chiropractic treatments as well. I can't walk/stand on concrete floors very long myself but I do fine on natural ground areas.

I will note that in my ads still out there for him. I have gotten several responses for him from dreamhorse, but a couple girls wanted a rodeo horse and Pete is not strong enough for that. We are hopeful with another response we are talking with, but the ads remain out there and we may still get an outright adopter. Any money sent in for him now would be an even greater incentive for anyone wanting to adopt him but short on funds. We cannot wait till the end of the week to scramble for money. And we have to think how much better QT would be for him right now.
