ohhh - check for rodents UNDER the house..... Sadly - when I bought my first house in s. oregon rats had chewed out about 70% of the wiring in the house.... A REAL pain....
Also - learned that putting out rat bate boxes were only like $6 each - lol.... definately went that route once I got things fixed. Hope it is not anything near that serious - maybe just a fuse issue!!
Take care, Sara

My brother always says 'you have to have seven horses in order to have one that's rideable'! I hate to say it, but sometimes that seems like the truth! WendyP/Bend, OR Just catching up...too busy to be online lately, however, I was blessed on that one. My first one is the charm!! Good thing, because I don't think I could rehome any thing I adopted...lol

I have to agree with the 7...I always seem to have 7 ...but now I only have 4. Dangerous when there's room in the other pasture for 1-2 more...

I read on another board that there were twins and one of them died. I am sorry to hear that. Since Snowflake was a twin, I think the probability that she would also bear twins woud be increased since the gene for twins is carried in the female of the species.

Thanks, yes, they were twins. Very sad indeed. I am not sure about twins being more often familial in horses, but doubt we'll breed her again anyway, this was planned for my daughter's next horse.
I think we'll have the cam back up this week, repairing the wires already, but I'll get some new pics too! she is a hoot!

LOL!!! she loves scratches but sometimes she gets a tickle, and spins and those feet fly!!! swooosh!!! if they hit, they'd HURT!!! momma just gives me a "it's 'bout time" look when I spank her little tooshy... hehe... I'll get pics.

sorry everyone... I've shucked my DUTIES!!! LOL!!! ok, here are some pics from last week, from my 12 year old who LUVS this filly! and one of the 'top' to prove... ain't got no spots... :-( but she has ATTITUDE to make up for it! ROFL! tried to lift the hinds, ahem... kicked so hard she woulda knocked me into Nevada if she had got me! we're workin' on that... hehe.. the fronts are a good thing now... she is WAY harder to deal with than ANY of our previous COLTS! LOL! well, ok all of our previous foals! hehe... she is a spitfire! gonna try to take them out to the arena today, we'll see how that goes, and Snow has all of a sudden taken to disciplining her! pinned ears and nips the little butt! she sometimes won't let her nurse... but obviously that is not at a time she would NEED to! she is thriving, and gets her own bucket of pellets at 'dinner' now... hehe... ENJOY!

just let them out for the first time in a turnout, and they had a blast! no horses have been in there since summer, so it's fairly deep soft loam, Moon had no idea what to do in that stuff! and it's a hill... so hard to stand on! Hehe... but sure was fun to run with momma! and wow! there are other HORSES!!! hehe... as you will see they were pretty interested in the baby too! uploading now to webshots...

Back from dinner and some shopping... here are some pics from today... knees are nearly completely straight now... whew... and she is a ball of fire! but then when she' s done, she crashes!!! LOL!!! I luv babies! oh, and sorry she is dirty, too cold and damp to wash her... she'd never dry! but, will live thru some dirt... :-) What the HECK is mom DOING? any chance to practice her cutting skills... hehe woohoo! that felt GOOD!!! (sorry we look like hill billies... but I had my ranch hand put up plywood over the galvanized gates so she wouldn't cut herself... some day ALL of them will be replaced but I think so far we've only been able to do about half... um... mom.... . 'who' are THEY??? ack!!! oh, anyone recognize that bay with his head over the fence? ?? cool!!! a... well.... hmmm... what is THIS mommy??? it's really HARD to figure out where to put your feet on this hill!!! hehe... they had a blast... soon they will have access to the turnout full time... but I go slow. and I want to make sure all of the gates are baby proofed... two are galvanized so I may just switch them two stalls down to a single... only one galvanized... and their own tree... :-) also no pipe fence line... it is all wood with 2x4 no climb, all the way around... only downside is stall is smaller, it's a 10 x 12, is that big enough?

WOW, he sure is a handsome young man. I should check with my friend, her fiancee is a tall guy, and they're looking for a tall horse for him, that could go english. The only thing is they're getting married next October, so not sure how the finances are.

He will be tall, and he is very thick boned... and I'd say his build is way more english... Let me know! I'll work with a wonderful home (naturally!)
