He's home!! OMG, he grew so much in three months. I can't believe how big he is! Jerry said he is going to be bigger than his mom (she's 15'3") yikes. Aunt Caly and Scott were on hand to welcome him home, which was nice. It was obvious he had bonded with Jerry but when he got home, he ran right back into the pasture and was welcomed by his friends. It was a looooonnnnnngggggg three months, but our (growing) boy is finally home! His tail is practically GONE. I think I have a picture, if not I'll post one later. It's really bad. I wanted to take a crack at showing him in hand this summer, but I would have to get him a tail extension. Yes, it's THAT bad!

He is a REALLY big boy now!! He came off the trailer like a pro, which he is now! The entire herd was at the fence looking to see who arrived on the truck. There was a bit of fence running and head tossing (the herd, not SP) but when he didn't come right out, they lost interest and wandered away. SP tied like a pro and looked around and sniffed and looked some more. We were all standing around talking and admiring him. At some point I guess he decided, "Yeah, I'm really home!" and started calling. (LOVE that cute bray!) and OMG, his Aunt Tina, and Kaleigh came running full bore from the middle of the pasture!! Angel came too (cause Kaleigh was running) and the rest of the herd followed in a bit. But, it was SO obvious that Tina and Kaleigh knew who he was and were very excited to realize it was SP! After he was turned out Tina took over as his protector, just like she's been since he was weaned. She was marching around and pinning her ears flat back at anyone who got near him! At first she and Kaleigh and a bit of a discussion, but she ended up accepting K as "second mom" again. K kept going over to sniff SP and he would double barrel her (no contact) it became like a dance and was hysterical. He started trotting around the pasture (wow does he have a gorgeous trot!) and just enjoying being able to move and run around. The herd was following him then they'd all start to graze, the trot, then graze. They accepted him back immediately. We were out there for over 3 hours just standing and watching them until the sun went down. It was so wonderful and peaceful. Jenm suggested this be a new Sunday evening tradition - hang out in the pasture with wine and snacks. Sounds good to me! I have pics too, but I'm on the wrong 'puter (an Apple MacBook Pro) to post them. (only *I* would be so confused by a Mac - the computer that is DESIGNED for media that I have to go to my PC to post pics. so it'll have to happen later. WELCOME HOME BABY, er BIG BOY!!!!!

Yeay, he's home! Yes, I've not been around much and out of the loop, sorry! I'm so glad he's home and looking forward to meeting him on the 28th. So glad your baby is back and can't wait to see what he's learned.
I highly agree w/ the wine n' pasture idea. I did that the other day. Well, no wine....but I turned Reno and Diva out, brought out my chair and magazine......enjoyed the view, the peace and quiet, the eagle and vultures that cruised over head.......and fell asleep. I woke up with Reno's face in mine, he looked like he thought something was wrong w/ me. After he realized I was alive, he took my hat and tossed it aside. Apparently if I'm IN the pasture, I'm supposed to play, not snooze!
