BAIL PLEDGED: $1,125 Home Offer: pnp4kids (You rock, Beth!!!) Total Bail Needed $550
Nancik $200 Agilitygal $25 Mickeyfan3 $25 caryn $50 gratefulknits $150 watermarkfarm $200 afinenettle $100 jenm $75 swissgrl $200 browneyedgirl93021 $100 __________________
Total pledged $1,125, still need MORE BAIL for QT, hoofcare, meds, grain and transport to California.
20 -25 year old, 15.1h, bay mare, breed unknown. Rejuvenate could use a new lease on life. She is very thin and supporting her colt foal. She is easy to handle, gentle on the ground and appreciates attention but especially food. Her colt is curious and friendly. They both appear to be sensible and level headed. Rejuvenate has terrible feet and is quite dropped in her pasterns, so she should be considered as only a companion horse. Questions? This poor mare.....despite the obvious lack of care she still looks so sweet and trusting! She needs a safe warm place to rest with her baby......

Please do not let the dropped pasterns deter you-----taking on a horse like this can be the most wonderful experience of your life. I have a 28 year old Arab with far worse dropped pasterns than this. It is very likely a disorder called DSLD, or Degenerative Suspensory Ligament Desmitis (for info, see http://www.dsld.org) Basically, her suspensory ligaments, which are like a big sling that holds up the fetlock joint, are deteriorated, but it is not a death sentence!
This mare will benefit HUGELY from proper trimming, and she will do best in a situation with flat footing and not a lot of deep mud, and a soft place to lay down when she needs to.
Please feel free to contact me for information regarding management of a DSLD horse. Our DSLD Arab is a joy and a gift and I love every day with him.
DSLD tends to run in gaited breeds like Paso Finos and Tennessee Walkers.

Oh, man. This just isn't right. Breed her til she drops. Somebody take them home and trim her feet ASAP.
I pledge $25.00. I know that isn't much but added to other bail money it would make a difference.

I;'ll offer the home... I am about to cry right now... this poor baby!!! and talk about loving and trusting!!! sigh... I have contacted Deb, and will let you all know... any help bailing will be appreciated, and you N. CA folks can help me raise the baby, you KNOW it takes a village! I have a nice stall with paddock I'll clear out for them, and they can chow here... lol.... I've been accused 'more' of having 'portly' horses than thin, and I've gotten some darn thin ones... Anyone that can help with bail or transport will be eternally thanked...

pnp4kidz has offered a home!
We need to bail this mare, pay for QT, cover farrier and vet while in QT, and raise money for transport to CA.
We are trying to get this pair off the lot ASAP. Please send your bail pledges immediately and marked for this pair so that we know what we have to work with. The faster we make bail, the faster we can get them moved into QT.
This effort is going to take the NorCal village to make it happen. Please, please, please do what you can to support Beth and Peg in taking on the mare & foal.
Come on, let's make it a happy ending for this poor mare and her baby. They need help right away.

Could we have a tally on what has been pledged so far? I want to help, too, but need to know how close we are. If you've offered support, please state an amount so we can tally and "Ho!", they'll be off the lot!

Thank you all! Let's get them off that lot as soon as possible! I can't sleep knowing they have to try to bed down there another night, and with no bedding for those poor bony hips and ribs!!!

OK, my unofficial tally:
Home Offer: pnp4kids (You rock, Beth!!!) Total Bail Needed $550
Nancik $200 Agilitygal $25 Mickeyfan3 $25 __________________
Total pledged $250, still need $300 for bail, and then sponsors for QT and transport.
I want to help, and for me the best would be to help with transport costs as I'm incredibly tapped out for the next few weeks. However, if there isn't enough help from others to cover his bail, I'll change my pledge from transport to bail.

I sent money to Deb to transport her off the lot... she requests that the Money sent in to CBER be 'marked' in the comments section that it is for Rejuvinate and Frolic, and a copy of the reciept be sent to her (Deb) for the accounting.
Modified to add: I pledge, and have sent in $200 towards her bail, so we are only $100 away from getting them SAFE today!!!
Deb will be doing the QT, so any pledges/donations for that can be sent to her directly, she has paypal avaolonmistfarm@msn.com
I have foal halters, and horse halters to send, and a blanket probably.... maybe one of my mini sized ones will even fit him... Apricot would want her blankie going to good use.
THANK YOU all!!! You guys are the best!!!

Thank you guys for the nice welcome :-) That is far and away the best $100.00 I've ever spent in my life. It just breaks my heart to think of what that mare has been through in her life, and I couldn't stand the thought of her being slaughtered on top of it.
Thank you all for all the work you do for the horses! They definitely need you :-) - Melanie

I am donating $200 to help with QT board. I will be mailing Beth a check for $100 tomorrow morning, with the next $100 in 2 weeks.
Donations to help cover QT board, vet, farrier, and transport to CA may be mailed directly to Beth (pnp4kidz). Every single dollar adds up. Thank you Beth and Peg for opening your hearts (and wallets) to two more horses!
